Item Description
10x19.5x1.5" deep box contains all instructions, playing pieces, cards, play money and 19x19" folding board. Box lid has illustration of Kennedys as they might appear on Mt. Rushmore. Lid edge has color rubs, minor bulge on right side panel and .5x1” surface paper off lid between “New” and “Game.” Attached to left side of box lid is cardboard tag reading "About The Game And Its Creators/The Kennedys, The Game Of Intra-Family Power Struggle, Is The Product Of The Fertile Imaginations Of Two Recent Harvard Graduates, Alfred C. Harrison, Jr. and Jack Winter." Both are pictured w/short bios, each having a connection to the "Harvard Lampoon" magazine. Text on tag concludes "Highly Successful Exercise In Satire, The Kennedys Is Also An Ingeniously Devised Game Of Strategy Which Is Certain To Delight Its Players" and has blank black surface paper off front side edge 1x2.5”. Underside of box has slightly higher and lower areas. Comes w/original unused and complete category cards w/character names of Jack, Jackie, Caroline, John Jr., Bobby, Teddy. These characters appear as various “Start” positions on game board edges. Also included is the "Turn Of Event Cards", many with narrow crease line along bottom edge. Examples of these cards include "Jack Says That If Congress Won't Pass Medicare, He'll Finance It Himself, Gains Power Group Backing/Jack Elected President, Gains Position Of Importance/Jack Bequeaths His Brain To Science, Gains Popular Support." Cards are both humorous and ironic. © 1962 by Harrison and Winter. Game is made by Transco Adult Games Inc., a division of Transogram Co. Inc. Minor age but a great example of a classic game, especially with original cardboard band still attached to lid.
