Both letters are on “ The Vice President” stationery and are 7x9”. First is dated May, 29, 1960. HHH thanks McLaughlin for his earlier letter and looks forward to seeing him at the Gettysburg event. Letter has 1 fold, .25” hairline of paper clip stain. Second letter is dated June 7, 1968 and Humphrey again thanks McLaughlin for the follow up letter and adds “I Was Happy To Autograph The Enclosed Photograph For Your Collection.” Both letters are signed and Exc. The third item is the 8x10” signed photo mentioned in the second letter. It is inscribed “To Harry J. McLaughlin/With Best Wishes/Hubert H. Humphrey.” A few handling creases at top, 1 corner crease and old masking tape on back edges. All three of these signed items come with Hake's COA and JSA COA. The lot also includes a four page 6x9” folded program from the Gettysburg event and lists “The Honorable Hubert H. Humphrey/Vice-President Of The Untied States" as address speaker. Handling creases. Humphrey/Memorial Day Exercises/Gettysburg, Pennsylvania/Thursday May, 30, 1968.” A complete listing of the day’s exercises including an alternate schedule in the event of “Inclement Weather.” Bottom of first page is missing 2x5” area on which nothing was printed.
