Item Description
Original box w/lid illustration contains 4" tall full figure of The Yellow kid w/incised "Dis Sope Is Grate See!" text on nightshirt. c. 1896. Figure has darkened w/age and metal pin eyes have oxidation. Figure remains complete and is free of splits, typical cracking from age. Fine display. Nicely preserved and structurally sound. Box lid has nice Yellow Kid image in red w/placard on chest reading "Me An' Mark Are Pals. Dat's Right." and is marked w/"David S. Brown & Co. Soaps And Perfumery" name. Lid has dust soiling and is slightly concave but box remains free of splits and retains its shape nicely. Complete w/cardboard insert. VG/Fine. Rare w/box.
