4.75x8.25x2-3/8" deep brass hinged wooden box has large embossed "Yaller Kid" name on lid and front of box, underside has applied paper label w/illustration of "Der Yaller Kid," an obvious reference to the Yellow Kid, who is pictured holding cigars in hands, w/cigar box underarm, cigars in pocket and "Say Dese Segars Ain't No Bluff Either See?" text on shirt. Box is for A.W. Loetell & Bro., a Baltimore, MD. cigar company. c. 1890s. Box shows some lt. wear/aging and label on underside of lid is complete and Exc. Scarce and first we've seen in our 47 years.
