Item Description
The 7/8” version of this design is Hake #3136 but this 1.25” version is unlisted. Great real photo design without dot pattern portrays elephant with raised trunk and with a “GOP” emblem suspended from his tusks. The blanket over his back pictures tiny but highly detailed photos of Taft and Sherman. Text below reads “Taft And Sherman/Republican Candidates/1912/©J.H.Shaw.” Reverse is metal covered with fixed horizontal bar pin. Small area at bottom of elephants front most leg has small raised bump noticeable to the touch but the celluloid remains totally clean and glossy. A rarity and the first we’ve offered.
