Item Description
3.5” with metal back and bar pin. Union bugs on curl. Text reads “Remember 1912/Win With Ike/Or/Lose With Taft.” Button is likely from the 1952 GOP convention where Robert Taft was Ike’s primary competition. This button recalls the fact that when the party split in 1912 between the regular Republicans led by William Howard Taft and the Progressives led by Theodore Roosevelt, Taft lost that election. Button may show pinpoint dot upper left that was a dirt speck now removed. There are a couple of short indent lines on the surface but exceedingly minor and just showing a trifle in reflected light. Button is totally clean and glossy and with perfect centering. Hake #2062. Rarely offered.
