Item Description
Here are 18 buttons that were primarily used at the Kansas City 1976 convention. The exceptions are a pair of flashers, one picturing President Ford and one picturing Ford and Dole. Sizes range from 1.25” to 3.5”. Six of the buttons carry the text “Shoot Out I Was There…” On three of these Ford wears the black cowboy hat and Reagan the white hat while on the other three the hat colors are reversed according to the person’s preference. Two of these include 6” ribbons printed in gold naming the convention, the city and the date. The remaining four buttons that are 3.5” consist of one generic welcome button, one button picturing Ford, one button picturing Reagan, and one button with them as jugate photos. There is another 3” button naming both of them. There are also three buttons issued by the Young Republicans and last item is a 2.5” litho stating “Kansas City Salutes…” Buttons are all NM to Mint. Ford took home the nomination in 1976 but Reagan ended up serving two terms.
