Item Description
1.5" with name of maker on curl Columbia Adv. Co. Rove's rise within the Republicans party and the influence he came to have is a fascinating story that began, more or less, with his determination to win the chairmanship of the College Republicans in 1973. The details of that battle, in which he was successful, are well described in a New Yorker article May 12, 2003 titled "The Controller." The 1973 College Republican chairmanship election was bitterly fought with battles over delegate credentials. The convention ended with both Robert Edgeworth and Rove appealing to the Republican National Committee, each contending that he was the duly elected chairman. The R.N.C. had its own chairman, George Herbert Walker Bush, and it was his decision that Rove had fairly won the vote at the convention and would become the new chairman of the College Republicans. As they say, the rest is history. Mint. Very limited issue.
