Item numbers 1 through 1144 in auction 209
Item Description
Sizes are .75" to 7/8". First picturing man in uniform reads "El Teatro del Pueblo/Heroe Al Del Pueblo." Next item pictures Pablo Iglesias, considered the Father Of Spanish Socialism who founded Spanish Socialist Workers Party. Button has his name below his portrait with text more or less translating to "Spanish Socialist Group For Refugee's." Third button pictures "General Rojo." As on item #409 showing La Pasonaria, the top edge of this button has inscription that translates to Spanish Working Alliance. Fourth item pictures and reads "Lina Odena/Agrupacion Obrera Hispana Del Bronx." From the earliest days of the fascist insurrection, she was a leader helping to organize militia in Almeria and fighting there on the front lines. She was at various sectors on the Granada front and in command of a militia unit. She became a famous heroine after dying in combat early in the war. Last item shows man with fabric band covering his eyes with text translating more or less to "Spanish Youth/Remove The Blindfold" in the sense of a call to arms. Only the Lina Odena has a back paper and that is by Popper, NYC. All five are Rare and Mint.
