Item Description
15/16" tall triangular badge with red, black and white enamel on brass accented by a 2" ribbons pinned on the reverse one in black and one in red. This group apparently had an anarchist philosophy. In 1936 "CNT" was legalized and remained legal until the end of the Civil War. During the war the union collaborated with other Republican groups opposed to the Fascists. CNT members formed part of the government of the Republic holding various ministries during the war. As shown on this badge the CNT (National Confederation Of Labor) sometimes affiliated with the FAI (Iberian Anarchist Federation) with the initials of both groups appearing on this piece. Black segment of the enamel has a tiny .25" line as made. The piece is Mint as produced.
