Item Description
A similarly designed button from 1960 is a trigate but this is a dated 1961 quadgate. The button is a 1-3/8" litho with blue-tone photo of Lincoln, Fredrick Douglass, Carter Woodson and Harriet Tubman. Text reads "1961 Proud American/Freedom/Knowledge" with initials below standing for group name Association For The Study Of Negro Life And History. This group was founded in 1915 by Woodson, now known as the Father Of Black History. Some small scuff marks around the outer edges but vast majority is clean.
