Item Description
Nice quality box w/sleeve contains 2-5/8x3.75" velvet-covered, hinged-lid case which contains coin issued by the US Mint in 1997 to commemorate the 50th anniversary of Jackie Robinson breaking MLB's color barrier and his legacy. Set includes metal attachment of the US Mint on the outside of the case, which holds $5 gold coin proof within velvet-covered insert. Coin bears image of an older Robinson as civil rights leader and political activist by William C. Cousins on obverse and baseball design w/"1919-1972 Legacy Of Courage" text by Jim Peed on reverse. Coins were minted at West Point and are 90% gold, .24 troy oz. Comes with US Mint COA. Mint as issued. From the Robert M. Overstreet Collection and comes with COA.
