The company advertised this set of 17 in their 1897 catalog for thirty-five cents. Each is 7/8". 14 have W&H back paper while 3 (one damaged) have American Pepsin Gum back paper. In the set of 17 the following steamship lines are represented: American Line, Anchor Line, Cunard Line, French Line, Hamburg American Line, North German Lloyd, White Star Line. "Great Eastern" has a few dark spots on the edges. It is quite scarce. Tiny age traces on rim of "New York." Other 15 are Exc. to Mint. Rarely offered as a set.
