Item Description
Ribbon badge is 4" tall with NM luster brass hanger and ribbon showing only the tiniest trace of a little age mostly at upper left. Back of the piece has paper sticker stating "This Article Manufactured By Bruce Regalia Co./Worcester..." Mack was 72 years old when he returned to his home town with his team the Philadelphia Athletics for an event to commemorate his starring on his first championship team in 1883 playing for the East Brookfield Baseball Club. George M. Cohan known as 'The Man Who Owns Broadway' served as the Master Of Ceremony. A program was issued for the day and the Philadelphia Athletics played the North Brookfield Armortreads. In his autobiography "My 66 Years In The Big League" Mack describes this day and his emotions in detail. A rare single game day issue.
