Item Description
Feb. 26,1935 typewritten letter on “Tom Mix Products” letterhead is 8.5x11” sent from VP Edward Wise to premier cast iron cap gun maker H.C. Dent of Dent Hardware. Contents include “We Are Very Anxious To License A Manufacturer To Make And Sell A Tom Mix Gun”, mentioning displaying a “Tom Mix Gun” at the NYC Toy Fair April 1. Letter has nice Mix photo at top incorporated in a lariat design. Signed in ink at conclusion by VP “Edward Wise Jr.”. Outside of the wood premium gun by Ralston, no Mix gun was ever produced; odd based on his popularity and that it would have been the perfect item to produce. Western Union telegram is 6.5x8” dated “1937 Jun 11” sent to “Rudy Vallee Astor Hotel- Enjoyed Visit Today With Your Dad Best Regards-Tom Mix”. Both items have light creasing and age toning. VG. A unique pair.
