Original nicely illustrated cardboard box contains 15.5" long painted pressed steel truck, complete w/12.5" pressed steel ballistic missile and accessory pieces. Late 1950s. Truck has steerable front wheels and features a number of decals, all of which are complete and include "Baker Industrial Trucks - Guided Missile Carrier" and "Guided Missile Carrier Traveloader" on front. At the center of the carrier is a side lift fork truck w/separate cranking wheels to move it in/out, up/down. Chain used to control this feature is loose and needs to be re-connected. Has separate pressed steel missile platform designed to manually lift the missile into a vertical position. Missile has spring-loaded firing mechanism and comes w/soft plastic rocket.Rocket was originally rubber-tipped, but tip is missing. Shows only the slightest wear, exceptionally designed and overall Exc. Box shows moderate wear w/aging, handling wear and scattered small tears, mainly to end flaps. VG/Fine. Wonderfully designed toy.
