Item Description
1.25” with W&H back paper which has four small tan age spots. The celluloid front of the piece still displays totally clean and Exc. Rim text names Cohan and his partner and button reads in full “The Cohan & Harris Comedians/’I Ain’t Allowed To Ask For Nothing/George Washington Jr.” Cohan starred, with his family and others, in this play George Washington Jr. which opened Feb. 6, 1906 at Herald Square Theater, NYC. Cohan performed the show-stopper in Act I ‘You’re A Grand Old Flag.’ Among the earliest buttons to name an important actor/producer in the world of theater.
