Item Description
Well made silvered brass pin 2" wide featuring globe image of North America at the center with accents to the left and right of film reels. In addition to the group name text reads "Chicago/2nd Nat'l Convention 1912." This event was held at the Hotel La Salle and passed a resolution calling for legal action to end the "Extortion" of the 2-dollar fee from licensed exhibitors and to prevent the Patents Company from interfering with licensed exhibitors who used independent feature films. The group's issues were with General Film and the convention passed a resolution demanding the company explain why prices on the special feature releases varied from $15 in Detroit to $75 in San Francisco. A historic artifact from the early movie industry. NM displaying Mint. One seen.
