Auction #209 - Part I
Item numbers 1 through 1144 in auction 209
Item Description
Lot of four rough white diamonds and one rough brown diamond found at Crater of Diamonds State Park, a 911 acre State Park in the town of Murfreesboro, Pike County, AR. The park features a 37.5 acre plowed field, the world's only natural diamond-bearing site accessible to the public. Diamonds have continuously been discovered in the field since 1906, including the world's only perfect diamond ever discovered, the Strawn-Wagner Diamond. Long ago, a volcano formed at this site, which allowed for a multitude of diamonds to be brought up to the surface. Offered here are five rough diamonds measuring 6, 8, 9, 14 and 16 points. For scale, a 1 carat diamond has 100 points. Combined, this lot ads up to a combined total of just under a half carat. Each diamond comes w/"Crater Of Diamonds State Park" COA stating the diamonds were found in 2005, 2008 and 2009 and each COA has been signed by the Park Superintendent. From the Robert M. Overstreet Collection and comes with COA.
