First is 1-7/8" tall brass case holding glow-in-dark dial that has numerals for use in conjunction with a lift up brass pointer. Also includes inset compass on the front while the back is silver luster meant to serve as a signaling device. Item does not carry Armstrong name, but this version was offered on his show in 1948 and then used in 1951 as a premium for cowboy star Allan 'Rocky' Lane, issued by Carnation Malted Milk. The metallic reverse of this is NM with the front displaying Mint. Comes with 3x3x.75" deep mailing box containing 2.75" dia. pedometer featuring aluminum case and with belt clip on the reverse. Center dial reads "Wheaties Hike-O-Meter." Mailing box has premium name penciled on the mailing label but otherwise in VF condition and the device itself is Essentially Mint.
