Item Description
7.75x9-1/8” thin art board has ink and color pencil art of Felix holding “Felix” book looking at viewer saying “This Is Very Interesting”. Inscribed in ink at bottom “To Joan and Charlie Roberts Best Wishes from Al Eugster May 1991”. Second thin art board c. 1950s is 5.25x7.5” w/full figure India ink image of Felix waving at viewer saying “Hi, Bea And Murray ! Greetings And Salutations !” Signed in ink at bottom “From Your Friend- Jack Bogle Alias Pat Sullivan”. Both originals are NM. Jack Bogle was the ghost artist on the “Felix the Cat” daily comic strip from 1927 to 1931. Art was done for noted collector Murray Harris. Legendary animator Al Eugster worked at the Pat Sullivan studio from 1927 to 1931, going on to work at Fleischer, Mintz, Iwerks, Disney, and Paramount studios over a long career. Superb images. Any “Felix” art signed by Bogle is rare. Historic and unique. From the Charlie Roberts Collection.
