Item Description
c. 1935 for 1937 feature. Trimmed sheets of animation paper have lead and colored pencil image areas ranging from 4.5x5” to 4.5x5.75”. Art was done for an unused sequence involving Doc and a walnut Dopey wants him to break. All appear to be by the same artist, but three are looser and have Dopey putting walnut on his head and Doc hitting it w/mallet. Other six are more finished w/borders and more color. One has hand lettered caption w/Dopey saying to Doc “Now, Why Don’t We Build Her A Bed?” First three have light handling creases, image areas otherwise Fine. Well drawn and historic w/Dopey obviously originally designed to speak.
