Item Description
Pair of promotional t-shirts issued at the time of their respective film's releases. Yellow shirt features classic title logo of the 1972 Blaxploitation film "Super Fly" directed by Gordon Parks, Jr., starring Ron O'Neal as an African-American cocaine dealer who is trying to quit the underworld drug business. This film is known for its soundtrack, written and produced by soul singer Curtis Mayfield. Super Fly is one of the few films ever to have been outgrossed by its soundtrack. Shirt has "Sun Unlimited" tag at collar and is a size medium. Logo is printed over breast pocket of shirt as designed. Second shirt features the iconic lips and teeth associated w/the 1975 British musical comedy horror film "The Rocky Horror Picture Show," based on "The Rocky Horror Show," a stage musical by Richard O'Brien. Directed by Jim Sharman from a screenplay co-written by O'Brien, the production is a humorous tribute to the sci-fi and horror B movies of the late 1940s through early 1970s. It introduced Tim Curry and features Susan Sarandon and Barry Bostwick along w/cast members from the original theater production. Shirt has large lips image as well as "The Rocky Horror Picture Show" title logo and "A Different Set Of Jaws" tagline. Both shirts were directly obtained from a movie industry insider and were never worn. Mint as made.
