Item Description
31.25 wide by 58.5" tall die-cut cardboard standee depicting Gene Autry riding his horse Champion. For use in movie theaters to promote various Gene Autry western films. c. 1940s. Text reads "Gene Autry - World's Greatest Cowboy - And Champion - World's Wonder Horse." Nice detail to Champion's bridle, which is designed to look like there is a pistol on either side. Standee folds at center and has easel back. Standee show obvious wear w/heavy creases at Gene's neck which breaks the surface paper and creases to his hat. Scattered creases at margins and moderate color touch-ups at margins. Easel back shows wear w/top half being loose but included. VG overall but displays bright and clean. Rare and first we've offered in our 47 years.
