Item Description
Nov.1955. 10.25x12.75” print by Gustave Dore on glossy paper w/hilltop sunrise image has portions neatly cut out and original art in India ink and white paint glued in place to backing board for “At Home With Lorelei Latour” humor page. Scene has Ernie Kovacs holding cigar next to convertible looking at fancy home on adjacent hill. Road leading up to house has hand inked “Burma Shave” and “Deer Crossing” signs. Reverse side has “Mad E.C. Publications” ink stamp copyright. Image area Exc. Kovacs (1919-1962) was a gifted comedic genius, one of the first to see television's visual possibilities, winning an Emmy in 1957. He influenced stars like Chevy Chase and shows like “Laugh-In” and “Saturday Night Live”. He wrote for Mad 1955-1958. Well drawn and funny.
