Op Art, also known as Optical Art, is a style of visual art that makes use of optical illusions. Offered here is a vintage pair of late 1960s items presented in an Op Art style. First item is 3x3x2.25" tall wind-up music box w/built-in key. Plays "The Impossible Dream" which is an ironic choice given music box features a printed disc within translucent plastic case that revolves when box is wound, reacting w/inset patterned disc in top of box case, which creates an optical illusion that creates an almost hypnotizing effect. Exc. Other item is 6.5x6.5x8" tall fabric-covered set of nesting boxes w/pyramid-shaped lids. Boxes fit within one another in nesting doll fashion and were designed for either display or to stash items away from prying eyes, though we don't care to speculate as to what was being stashed. Each of the four boxes are evenly aged and largest lid has .25" tear at corner, o/w set is VF overall.
