Original release 27x41" one-sheet movie poster for the classic 1939 20th Century Fox film, the second Sherlock Holmes film starring the team of Basil Rathbone as Sherlock and Nigel Bruce as Watson. The film was directed by Alfred L. Werker and co-starred Ida Lupino, George Zucco and Alan Marshal. Poster is dominated by large image of Sherlock and Lupino's character Ann Brandon, w/image of Marshal in bkg. Poster was folded as issued and has scattered restoration/touch-ups along fold lines which blend. 1.25" tear at top right margin. Majority of restoration is along top vertical fold and at corners. As linen-mounted, poster displays VF. Classic poster featuring Rathbone as Sherlock in his classic outfit, deerstalker hat and all. Very rare and highly sought after poster.
