Item Description
17" long painted pressed steel truck No. 950-6 w/quilted aluminum running boards, separate aluminum ladder, rubber hoses w/threaded ends and a 2-5/8" tall die-cast metal hydrant w/threads so truck could be hooked up to faucet/hose and spooled rubber hoses could actually squirt water. Tonka Toys Inc. This is first version from 1956 (see second version #1703). Each side of hood has "T.F.D." (Tonka Fire Department) decal and doors have "No. 5" decals. Additional decals include gauges by hose hook-ups and accents at rear. Truck bed shows some lt. wear w/tiny scratches and decals are aged but complete. All rubber remains pliable. NM. Hydrant shows heavy paint wear. Comes in original illustrated cardboard box. Box is lightly aged but o/w Exc. Old store stock.
