Item Description
Original 11x14" lobby card for The Three Stooges' 82nd short film for Columbia, 1944's "No Dough Boys." The story deals with The Stooges dressed as Japanese soldiers for a photo shoot. Their boss tells them to go on a lunch break and to keep their costumes on to finish the photo shoot quickly. Meanwhile, newspaper headlines state that a Japanese submarine was destroyed offshore and three Japanese soldiers had escaped. Naturally, the Stooges are mistakenly identified as the Japanese, prompting attacks on the Stooges, who manage to escape. They then accidentally stumble into a Nazi hideout where they meet a Nazi spy who also mistakes them for the three Japanese soldiers. The spy introduces them to some women and figures out they are imposters, which leads to a fight in which the Stooges are victorious. This was one of a handful of Stooges shorts that engaged in propaganda against the then-enemy Japanese. All Three Stooges are pictured in Japanese soldier uniforms, attempting to entertain the German women they were introduced to. Card has several pinholes along top and bottom margins, but these mostly blend. Card has some lt. handling wear w/some scattered dust soiling and is Fine overall w/an Exc. image area. Rare Three Stooges lobby card.
