Two-page typed contract on onionskin paper is dated Jan. 30, 1956 and is between legendary pin-up artist Alberto Vargas and Allied Artist Production, Inc. Contract concerns Vargas painting "Full-Length Water-Color Drawings Of Nancy Gates, Lisa Montell And Shawn Smith" for a project titled "World Without End." For his work, Vargas would receive $1,500. Vargas's name was marketed alongside the project, w/such examples as "Vargas Interprets The Women Of The Future For The Screen's Science-Fiction Sensation..." Vargas created art which featured each actress in Vargas's typical pin-up poses w/some sci-fi elements tossed in, and these were used for the 1956 sci-fi film's six-sheet movie posters. We have included a photo print of these images. Contract was signed on second page in blue ink by Vargas as well as an Allied Artist Production, Inc. representative. Contract has been folded and has some creasing at corners. Fine overall, but Vargas's bold signature remains Exc. Comes w/Vargas's personal business card w/his Los Angeles address. Exc.
