Item Description
Each is 9.5x11.75” high quality hardcover published by Bradbury, Agnew & Co. London. Each has frontispiece fold-out and full page cartoons in b/w. Vol. One has 454 pages covering the years 1841-1857 including the very first cartoon published by “Punch”, Vol. Four has 462 pages covering the years 1890-1901. Artists include John Tenniel (who also illustrated “Alice in Wonderland”), John Leech, and George du Maurier. Themes alternate between political and various humorous situations. Images include “Russian Frankenstein” and “Alice in Bumbleland”. Cover corners have minor tip wear. Fine. A few pages have a minor tear here and there, but contents overall VF/ Exc. Well done and historic, likely issued as a four volume set.
