Three items. First is 9x12” stapled folder c. 1940 titled “The Civil Rights Law Of New York Section 50”. Contains 24 carbon copy onionskin typewritten sheets w/two parts. Second part is titled “Particular Reference To Comic Magazines” w/concern related to whether certain comics are “True” as stated. Includes mention of “Silk Stocking Stories” and publishers Fox and Popular. Next is 8.75x11.5” soft cover binder dated Jan. 1946 issued by Bureau of Applied Social Research Consulting Division w/84 carbon copy onionskin typewritten sheets. Front cover is titled “The Children Talk About Comics” by M. Fiske and K. Wolf. Contents relate to comic book effects on children. Characters mentioned include Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, Donald Duck. Third item is Oct. 18, 1948 “Report On Comic Books” stapled set of 52 single sided 8.5x11” typewritten pages stapled at top from City Director of Public Relations for Mayor Morrison and Commission Council of New Orleans. Text includes worst comics as “Over-Violent And Sexed, And Their Emphasis Is On Godless Brute Strength”. Back portion has addresses of publishers and list of titles sold in city. First two folders have lt. cover edge wear, contents on all three VF/Exc. Fascinating reading. Extremely limited distribution.
