Item numbers 1 through 1270 in auction 210
Item Description
7-5/8x9.25" die-cut program depicted as buffalo head. ©1898 J.A. Rudolf. Program was for performances in Boston, MA. the week of June 12, 1899. This is noted by specially printed second page which features a great illustration of Buffalo Bill Cody on horseback. Program goes on to detail all that a Buffalo Bill show entailed, including "Indians Attacking Stage Coach, Group Of Mexican Ruralies, South American Gaucho" as well as various "Rough Riders" of the world, buffalo hunt, US Cavalry, lasso and shooting tricks. A section details "The Rough Riders' Heroic Charge At San Juan Hill" and Cuban scenes from the Spanish-American War. Another page goes on to show Cody and all the "Distinguished Generals Under Whom Col. Cody Has Served" including Custer and Hancock. Several Native Americans are featured, among them Chief Joseph of the Nez Perce. Annie Oakley's photo and image are also featured on two different pages. Program shows moderate handling wear w/pinch creases to spine and scattered aging, most noticeable inside front and back covers, which have a few small .25" to .5" tears w/tape repairs. Fine overall. Great Wild West content.
