16x28” archival mat board has 10x22”opening revealing nine hand water colored India ink panels dated “12-23”. Brenda, Hank and others are in the newsroom talking about Christmas party and possibility of “Lady Boss” Brenda meeting a perfect man. She returns to her office and sees pair of cowboy boots on her desk as a voice says “Hi Red !”. Logo is a hand colored photo stat Reverse side of art board has creator's ink note "I Handcolored This Brenda Starr Original Dale Messick." Bright and Exc. Complete w/Chicago Tribune copyright sticker. Nice example w/main characters by the legendary female comic strip artist who began the strip in 1940.
