Item Description
9.25x11.5" cloth-covered, string bound hardcover "Scrap Book" contains a painstaking collection of magazine, newspaper and sheet music clippings, mostly collected 1933-1934. An obvious fan of "The Royal Canadians" member and noted bandleader/violinist Lombardo, the owner compiled this tome which includes numerous magazine and newspaper photos as well as a typed letter dated Sept. 30, 1933 w/"Music Corporation Of America" letterhead that has been signed by Lombardo's secretary. Scrap book also includes a vintage 5x7" bw photo of Royal Canadians member and Guy Lombardo's brother Carmen that has been inscribed in blue ink "To Our 'Best Fan' With Best Wishes Carmen Lombardo." Exc. A vintage glossy 7.25x8.75" bw photo of Lombardo has been inscribed in blue ink "To Our Friend Hazel - Best Wishes - Guy Lombardo." Photo has been mounted to pages w/scrap-booking strip at each corner, o/w Exc. Another item of note is a Christmas calendar for 1934 w/inset bw photo that has been signed "Those Lombardo's" and shows the Lombardo Family. Covers show wear w/some scattered tears to cloth covering. Fine. Interior pages and clippings have aged but remain as originally mounted and make for a wonderful display. Fine-VF overall. The ultimate vintage Guy Lombardo scrap book. Comes with Hake's COA.
