Item Description
Included in this lot are 20 10.5x13.5" thin artboards for Whitman color by number book No. 1660 published and ©1966 NPP, Inc. Book featured 40 pages, each image being printed twice w/one for free coloring while other has color by number numbering. We are missing just the title page, all coloring pages are present. All feature original pen and ink art w/acetate overlay sheets taped at top w/inked coloring numbers on overlay. Art features great images including Batman and Robin in Batcave, Alfred Pennyworth at Shakespeare bust, Commissioner Gordon, Batmobile, Joker, Penguin, Catwoman and others. Some scattered penciled/inked editorial notation at margins, but all art remains clean and Exc. Comes w/14.25x16" artboard w/attached bw photostat of cover title and "Color By Number" subtitle paste-overs on acetate overlay sheet. Scattered aging from tape but Fine/VF overall. Also comes w/production file copy of the actual coloring book w/inked job number at top of front cover. Wonderful and unique 1966 Batman art.
