Item Description
33" long and 1.25" dia. at the top with three vertical rows of text with each letter in very high relief from 1/8" to 3/16" deep. At top from waist up is armless portrait of Bryan. 3.25" tall. Front row of text reads "William J. Bryan President 1900." Next row reads "Champion Of The Democratic Rules." Last row reads "The Solon Of The 19th. C. Century!" There is a single C between "19th" and "Century" for some unknown reason. While in the style of Frank Feather, a famous woodcarver from the Pennsylvania/Maryland border area, this cane was reportabley done by a Reading, Pa. carver who also made an 1896 Bryan cane and at least one for McKinley.
