Item Description
10.5x16" thin artboard featuring original pen and ink art by comic book artist Sal Buscema (noted for his work on 1970s issues of "Captain America, Defenders, Incredible Hulk, Marvel Team-Up" and "Spectacular Spider-Man"). Offered here is the original art for page 17 of "Marvel Team-Up" #52 published by Marvel Comics in Dec. 1976. Issue was written by Jerry Conway w/interior art by Buscema. Six-panel page shows battle scene w/Captain America and Spider-Man teaming up to battle a huge extra-dimensional monster. Additionally, French kick-boxing villain Batroc the Leaper makes an appearance in two panels. Captain America is pictured in all but one panel, including two full body images w/his iconic shield. Two panels include close-ups. Spider-Man is pictured in four panels, including a nice close-up. First 5x5" panel was a editorial replacement featuring altered art as it appears in the actual comic book and is attached via masking tape on back. Artboard has some scattered spots of correctional fluid and editorial notations at margins. A few very faint streaks of moisture staining to third panel but overall art remains clean and VF. Comes w/reading copy of the actual comic book this art was created for.
