Item Description
This medal design leads off the DeWitt book 1840 Harrison listings as WHH1840-1. That example was executed in white metal whereas this very well done re-strike from 1888 is in lead rather than white metal. The piece came from descendants of President Benjamin Harrison's family. The obverse picturing log cabin and cider barrel reads "To Let/Possession/Given,In/1841." There is a border of 26 stars on each side. Reverse reads "The/Young Mens/Harrison/Convention/May 4h/1840." Holed as made and with much silver luster remaining. An unlisted rarity.
