Item Description
13x13x2" deep box has lid w/nice illustration of Roy Rogers on rearing Trigger. "Roy Rogers - RR - The Plus Brand" logo appears at upper left. "Roy Rogers Pledge To Parents" w/Roy's facsimile signature appears at bottom right. Manufactured by Classy Products. c. mid-1950s. Repeat illustration on all sides of box of bullet belt w/his name appearing on all sides. Box lid has three corner splits w/masking tape repairs. Surface paper shows wear along edges and at corners. VG overall. Box holds 23.5" main belt sections w/gold foil accent panels w/"RR" brand gold metal accent plates above holster pockets. "Roy Rogers" name below six gold plastic bullets. Two 9.5" long leather holster pockets are attached w/nice gold foil covering and black plastic accent stones. Belt is a bit stiff. Foil shows trace of wear and metal rivets have trace of aging/oxidation but belt/holsters are VF/Exc. overall. Holsters each hold 9.75" long all gold finish die-cast metal cap gun by Classy. Raised "Roy Rogers" name and "RR" brand on both sides, below bullet chamber, metal grips w/detailed scroll work. Guns are unfired. Both guns have some wear/aging to the gold finish from rubbing against holster interiors. VF. Rare, all gold variety. One of the most expensive, high quality Roy Rogers holster sets. Comes w/original envelope holding 7.25x10.5" mimeographed letter that is dated April 9, 1957 congratulating Third Prize winner in Roy Rogers - Baker's Instant Chocolate Contest and to look for the aforementioned gun/holster set that was being sent to him. Letter has been signed in black ink (which has aged to an off-brown color) by Roy Rogers. Folded as mailed and Exc. Comes with Hake's COA and JSA LOA.
