Item Description
This is one of the finer graded examples of this card known. It's from the "44 Scrappers" series which is a follow up to the E79 "27 Scrappers" series. The boxer featured on the card, Ad Wolgast("The Michigan Wildcat"), was one of three siblings who professionally fought, the other two were Johnny and Al Wolgast. In 1911, he captured the World Lightweight Title with a TKO win over "Battling" Nelson. He ultimately defended the belt five times before losing it in 1912. This is an excellent card to add to any collection of 20th century boxing cards.
