Item Description
4.75x6.75x2" deep tin litho bank produced in Germany by Saalheimer & Strauss, c. 1920s. Bank has separate tin litho jointed figure of sailor standing in front of what appears to be ship's boiler. When tin tab below left arm is pressed, figure salutes and right arm moves, exposing coin slot. Back has some scattered lt. wear w/two .25" areas of paint touch-up to shirt and gray bkg. of boiler door. This blends somewhat. Fine overall, but still displays nicely. From the Maurice Sendak Collection and comes with COA.
