Item Description
Large 43.5x69" jigsawed hand painted wooden sign has nicely done portraits of Roy Rogers and Dale Evans at top center w/checkerboard pattern along sides w/pistol images and scattered horseshoe and musical note design. This one of a kind sign hung over the stage at Valley View Park in York County, PA when Roy and Dale performed there in the 1950s. This popular music venue was started in the 1940s by musician Shorty Fincher. Roy and Trigger appeared there in the 1940s and returned in the 1950s w/Dale. This venue also attracted such performers as Earl Scruggs, Johnny Cash, Hank Williams Sr., Elvis Presley and many others. Sign has scattered edge wear, mainly along top center, but this does not detract too much and sign still displays VF.
