Item Description
Original illustrated cardboard box contains 4.25" tall bank designed like a book w/embossed oilcloth fabric over brass. 1930s by Zell Products Co. Original box features same art/text as front of bank w/image of the Three Pigs w/text "We Save Our Coins - So Who's Afraid Of The Big Bad Wolf!" Three side panels have different portrait images of the Pigs, w/"I Save Pennies, I Save Nickels, I Save Dimes" text. Underside has inked notation with 1939 date and that this was a gift for a child who had his tonsils removed (also comes w/paper w/inked "From/To" note). Box bottom has two corner splits and lid has some corner tip wear/color rubs. VG/Fine. Bank is cream color variety. Complete w/key. Bank has some lt. wear/aging but is VF/Exc. overall. Rare as boxed, this is the first boxed example of this bank we've offered in our 47 years.
