Item Description
7.75" tall toy w/built-in key on side. Made in Japan by IUE, 1930s. Elmer wear fabric clothing over a hard body while his head and arms are celluloid. Feet are painted composition. He holds a pair of celluloid drumsticks (one w/minor repair) and has separate cardboard and fabric drum w/metal rims w/thin paper drum heads. This can be attached to Elmer's waist via metal hook. Toy works and plays the drum as his head rocks back and forth. Elmer wears felt pants w/fabric suspenders and has a cloth label on the inside of one leg w/IUE turtle logo. Fabric shirt has area of staining beside suspender from glue and shirt has slight fade. Celluloid parts remains free o any crack/dents and separate trunk is complete. Paper drum heads have pinhole puncture to top and .5" split on underside. Toy is Fine/VF overall. Rare and first example we've seen in our 47 years.
