Item Description
9.75" tall tin litho wind-up w/built-in key. Unmarked but made in Germany. 1930s. Toy depicts a dapper-dressed Bonzo w/separate die-cut painted tin umbrella in hand. When wound, separate tin litho eyes and jaw move up and down, giving the toy the illusion of blinking and speaking. Heavy fading to red on tongue and vest (which has faded to yellow). Toy has some scattered wear/aging w/some small scattered spots of oxidation. Toy stills works well and wobbles around when wound. VG. Rare. From the Maurice Sendak Collection and comes with COA.
