Item Description
Sizes are 1" to 2.25". Group begins with memorial button for Paul Von Hindenburg the second President of Germany 1925-1934 who appointed Hitler Chancellor in 1933. Second is a litho for Russian Red Army Commander Marshal S. Timoshenko. He fought against the German invasion of Soviet lands in 1941. This button promotes USA support with the slogan "Their Victory/Our Victory." Next item pictures U.S. Army Air Force general in WWII. Issued shortly post-war for event "Gen. Alvin Luedecke Day." Next are a pair of buttons picturing "Gen. Carl A. Spaatz." Large button includes notation "The Only U.S. General To Sign Both World War 2 Surrenders." Larger button has small tan mark at left. Couple of other lighter marks scattered on the white rim. This was issued for his hometown "V-J Day (celebration) Sept. 29, 1945." Last two buttons are for "Welcome General Wainwright" and a c.1968 Presidential hopeful button reading "Vote Gen. Gavin For Peace." All are Exc. and display Mint except as noted.
