Item Description
6x14x4.5" deep hinged lid wooden box has attached 5.75x13.25" cardboard w/full body color image of Dude Brownie and "Brownie Portrait Cubes" text. Produced by McLoughlin, ©1892 Palmer Cox. Set consists of 10 wooden cubes w/illustrated panels on each side that could used to form full body portrait images of six different Brownies - Dude as seen on lid, Uncle Sam, Indian, Chinaman, Bellhop and Policeman. Cardboard attachment on lid shows wear w/corner foxing, horizontal crease at center and scattered lt. surface paper wear w/.25" spot off knee. VG, but rest of box is Exc. Cubes show wear from use w/edges/corners of applied paper surfaces showing wear. Fine overall. Rare set. From the Maurice Sendak Collection and comes with COA.
