Original 27x41" one-sheet movie poster for the 1939 Columbia 12-chapter serial starring Warren Hull as Mandrake The Magician, Doris Weston as Betty Houston and Al Kikume as Lothar, Mandrake's Assistant. Based on the "Mandrake The Magician" comic strip created by Lee Falk and Phil Davis. Poster features wonderful design, capturing the enchanting and often dark nature of magic, showing nice large Mandrake portrait at top and images of masked men and swooning woman below. Another, ghost-like man hovers overhead. Originally folded, poster has some scattered color touch-ups along vertical center fold line w/moderate touch-ups at top fold crease intersection. Upper right corner has 2x2" area of restoration, but this has all been professionally done and is only noticeable upon close inspection or under black light. Technically Fine/VF, but as linen-mounted, poster displays Exc. w/bright and bold colors. Scarce and desirable poster promoting the entire 12-chapter serial, not just a single chapter as is usually found. First we've offered in our 47 years.
