Item Description
Our photos show both the button we are selling along with an image of the doll that wore this button when sold. Button is 1.25" with small traces of age on the reverse. Black Bottom refers to a 1920s popular dance during the Flapper era. The dance originated in New Orleans and the theatrical show Dinah brought the dance to New York in 1924 and it was featured in the George White's Scandals at the Apollo Theatre in Harlem 1926-1927. This boudoir doll carries the name of its maker "Mfg. By S. & H. Novelty Co., Atlantic City, N.J." Extreme outer edge has three barely detectible tiny age marks. Still displays glossy and NM. Among the rarest buttons that came on dolls.
